My CPU has been hitting 100°C while playing assassin's Creed odyssy recently. I just replaced my Mobo with a z97 Pro4 and got a new RTX 2070. My cooler is a h100i v2 which I've reapplied thermal paste to many times with no success. Please help!

Solution
After testing various things it could be I decided to try out new thermal compound... This did the trick as now my CPU gets to 61 max under load. Thanks for everyone who tried helping. This thread is closed :)

Verify that by trying to feel for some vibration on the tubes or waterblock while the system is running. You shouldn't be hitting temps that high, so you either have a dead pump or the waterblock is not correctly mounted even after multiple tries. If you got this AIO cooler at the same time you got the 4790k, then your system is probably 3-4 years old, and that is usually about the time these AIO pumps start to fail.

I believe the problem was that the thermal compound I had been using was left open and dried out.. I just bought some insignia thermal compound nothing special
