Hello everybody,

Looking to bother anybody that has some time to critique a build I'm working on. The system is for my brother who will using it mainly for media editing, video playback, home use, and casual gaming. His budget is approx $1000 and requested that it have an i7-4790K, an SDD, a decent video card and prefers a case with eSATA on the front panel as he will be doing a lot of file transfer. He's got just about everybody else that isn't listed below, I believe his monitor is 17" and he plans to run Win7. Don't think he has decided on editing software yet but he will probably be using adobe or corel. Primarily looking for feedback on compatibility/stability and appropriateness for the desired tasks.

Made some adjustments to the build. 16 GB is a bit overkill for gaming and moderate media editing and at least a 1 TB HDD is needed for mass storage. The XFX 550w PSU is a very solid unit and a GTX 750 Ti is excellent for casual gaming while being cheaper.

Thank you very much, this was the type of feedback I was looking for. I did forget to mention that he does have plenty of HDD storage already as he is a bit of a hoarder. The video card and RAM capacity were a difficult pick for me as I haven't built systems for video editing. From what I know CUDA core number and OpenCL performance is important but I have doubts that he will be spending hours editing or doing anything really intense besides encoding/compressing. Your recommendation probably fits his need a bit better and saves a good chunk of change.
