Hi,
I'm building a new rig for myself and it would be mostly used for learning/doing medium to heavy vfx, making animated videos (3D) and editing images and videos(mostly raw files for both). Here's the build which I'm buying but there's one thing about which I'm a bit confused and that's the graphics card. Here's the config which I'm going for:

CPU: i7 4790K
MOBO: Gigabyte z97-md3h
GPU: Nvedia Gforce GTX 750ti/960
HDD: WD 1TB
SSD: Kingstone 120GB
RAM: Corsair Vengence 1600mhz 8BG(will be upgrading to 16GB by next month)
PSU: Corsair 650 watt
CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i
Cabinet: Corsair 400r
Monitor, keyboard and mouse: Will be using the one I have

As I said before I'm confused about the graphics card (750ti or 960), which one should I go for. It's not about the budget (between them) but it is the compatibility with the motherboard that I'm worrying about. If you(the experts) can advice me which one should I go for that will be very helpful as that is the only component that I need to buy and possibly within 2 days I'll get my assembled PC delivered. So if I can order it(the card) they will add and send me the whole thing.

Thank you and stay safe to you all.

P.S. I'll be using an old version of windows 7 which I already own, and please early answers are like heaven to me as I'm in a little hurry. :)

Solution
The motherboard will support either graphics card, but I recommend a GA-Z97X-SLI or Z97 Extreme4 over the current one. The D3H is quite the budget board.

Also, don't get a CX600. They're low quality power supplies. I recommend anything from XFX or Seasonic at that level. The XFX TS 550W is a good option.

Finally, I would avoid Kingston SSDs at all costs. They use a cheap controller which makes them much slower than other SSDs. An OCZ Arc 100 is a great SSD and is normally cheaper than the 850 Evo.

Solution
First of all, I didn't expected a reply this early. Thank you Woddy1999 for your prompt answer to my question, but there's one small problem the motherboard, PSU and SSD which you suggested are not available in my country. So if you(or anyone else) can suggest anything besides these things I will try to get them(until it extends my budget and it's availability).

And as I said earlier I've already ordered and paid for all the parts mentioned at the beginning so there might be a little problem with changing stuffs, but still I'll try my best.

Thank you once again and stay safe.

P.S. I'm from India :)

Wait, so you've already ordered the parts? You've dug yourself a pretty big hole there 😛

Your parts will work just fine, but you won't be getting the best performance you can for the money, nor will you be satisfied by the quality of the power supply.

Hmm, well the PSU can be changed later on but changing the motherboard is a pain mate. And as I said the availability of those parts is also an important thing.

Anyway thanks for the suggestions.

The board should be fine, as there are few Z97 boards that aren't high quality. The board you've picked is certainly good enough, just not the best in its price range.

Hmm, ok let's just see how things work for now anyway and if I feel like I need to upgrade the motherboard I'll definitely go for a better one. And if you have any other suggestions for motherboard(except for the one you did earlier) please leave a comment and if I get any news about it at time of upgrading I'll surely go for that. But I really doubt that I'll need to upgrade the motherboard in the future.

And thank you once again for the consistent answers, stay safe :).
