Hey guys I've been struggling to find out the cause on why my temps are so damn high now..
I literally just build this computer 2-3 days ago until today i saw that my temps were very high / abnormal.
So normal usage with skype running + google chrome and other things like steam I am currently getting
46-69 Celsius and sometimes even MORE
When I ran camtasia studio once today it went up to 80-89 Celsius..

Here are my specs :
Intel Core i7 4790 K Running at stock with stock cooler.
I did remove the cooler to apply some new thermal paste onto the cpu with arctic silver 5 thermal paste. Did that about 5-7 hours ago still nothing improved.
All my other components are fine my 970 gtx running really good just the cpu with the problems.

Even when I get into BIOS I saw my cpu temp going up to 91 Celsius, which literally confuses the hell out of me and scares me.

I have done nothing to the CPU no overclocking, just applying new thermal paste.
I did the pea size method and put the cooler ontop of it and pushed the pins in and thats it.

Temps at this very moment .

When I game like games like Evolve Or Insurgency at 1440x900 maxed out I get 97-100 Celsius CONSTANTLY never goes under 90 Celsius and real temp always gives me the LOG message and HOT whenever I game.

I am really losing hope here and do not know what to do..

fauruto,

It's likely that one of the push-pins on your stock cooler has popped loose, which will cause high temperatures at idle, as well as at 100% workload.

You can troubleshoot this problem by pushing firmly on each corner of the cooler for about 30 seconds while watching your temperatures. When you see a significant drop, you've found the loose push-pin.

The push-pins can be deceivingly tricky to get them fully inserted through the motherboard and properly latched.

i7 4790 k. that is your problem. you have a Stock intel cooler & honestly wether u overclock on not stock coolers are never advisable for 'K' series cpu. suggest u invest in a aftermarket cooler Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO, or Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus. also try re applying the thermal paste. its a high possibilty the past hasnt edge between the cpu thus ur cpu is heating up.

Still I don't think it should be heating up that much... and I am not even overclocking anything.
and i've already reapplied thermal paste 8-9 hours ago ill check if it spread soon
