i7-4790k Dual Graphics card compatible?

Hi, I have an i7-4790k and an GTX760, I would like to upgrade to 2 GTX760s, but the specifications of the i7 say that it can only handle 16 PCIe ports, so will using 2 actually work? And why yes or no?

Yes it is fine as GTX 760 SLI will run in x8/x8 mode.

YES. I have two EVGA 780ti Classifieds in SLI. They run PCIE 3.0. x8 x8. See rig in sig. Both cards will share 16 lanes by splitting into two x8 lanes.
