no mate i got the one fan that came with it http://www.coolermaster.com/cooling/cpu-air-cooler/hyper-212-evo/
plus when i did the a AIDA64 TEST i selected the stress test and stress fpu and the stress cache all 3 in one test might that give me high temps. while playing bf4 ultra all settings i get 64c temps i have been looking at the i7 4790k and i cant seem to find anywhere on the internet that tells me average temps for the cpus my case is Corsair Obsidian Series 550D 2 in & 2 out fans motherboard gigabyte gaming 7 bios f6

A better thermal stress test would probably be prime 95 v26.6 with small fft's (for steady load). Make sure the center knurled nut under the cpu cooler fins is snug to maintain contact pressure, the 212 evo mounts kind of funky. I wouldn't bother with a 2nd fan, it will cost you $10-20 and you might see 1-2c difference. Temps in the high 70's to 80c under stress testing would be ok, chances are your temps will be lower while using standard applications (like gaming). Keep in mind the 212 evo is a budget cooler so you're not going to see amazing temps though it will perform better than stock. If you're gaming with the system, try running realtemp while playing the game then check to see what your max temps are.

How did you test is it was the motherboard? Because I feel like I'm in the same issue as you.

hi friend the motherboard i had the socket was faulty and it destroyed my cpu but i know that the gigabyte gaming 7 boards give the cpu more volts when turbo is on auto. so on my new board i have lowerd my cpu vcore down to 1.164v from 1.238v @ 4.4ghz and my temps have droped a few degrees but evo 212 is a good cooler but we wont see greats temps from the i7 4790k without h100i cooler
