SO im realy confused why my idle temp has gone up it usualy sat at about 32c right now its switching between 41c and 42c almost like a rythym i took my cpu cooler off and reapplied thermal paste ( dot method) and changed the way my fan was running i had it pushing towards the top of the case. now i have it pushing to the back. i wouldint be so worried if it always idled at this temp. OH also when i booted up after i re applied the thermal paste i got aye cpu fan error. (mobo is a asus maximus vi hero) my hyper 212 evo. is plugged into the cpu fan slot on the mobo. i looked around in the bios to try to find how i can change my cpu fan speed but no luck. also when i do a mix test on prime95 i hit 70c. if u all could please help me thatd be great.

on asus mb there two cpu fan headers the aux header is for the case fans you may have plugged your fan in that port. in the bios you can slow the cpu fan down and set a min speed. or download asus mb tools you can control the fan speed from inside of windows. make sure when you log into the bios your set to standard mode and not performance mode. also check the cpu core voltage it should be set to auto. if you over clocked the cpu or your mb the cpu temp will go up.
