Looking to upgrade an ageing amd system, will transfer some parts and recently picked up an i7 4790K for £200 in the US, so will be building system around that, I also have an ASUS gtx 760 and may sli with a second off ebay, as a stop gap measure until next generation cards come out or I up grade monitor above 1080P 60hz

Option 1

This is my red and black option http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/boxey/saved/Qk6xFT using the asus gene, may use water cooling or use this https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/zalman-cpu-cooler-cnps8900quiet

Option 2

I do fancy getting away from red and black so this is my bling rig !!!

asrock formula oc - looks a great board for the price only doubt is the killer lan compared to intel lan on the Gene ?

http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/NmGT99 does work out cheaper on air as well

cheers

Solution

Thanks - I probably will use the H100 gtx

What do you think about the Corsair Vengeance Pro vs the G skill Trident X

Don't think the Tridant X will go with the gold mobo !

Yes was going to light it up with some white or amber LEDs

Think the Trident x are better but the vengeance are cheaper

Thanks will check on the gtx vs h100i

Corsair CX series is not the best option for a high-end GPU & oced i7 4790K gaming rig.
So its worth in your next gpu upgrade look for a good Seagate/XFX/Antec/EVGA-g2 PSU too.

good luck mate 😀
