Hi, I was wondering which of these two processors would be better for gaming, the i7-4790k or the i7-5930k. I noticed the 4790k has a higher clock speed, but the 5930k has a larger cache and has six cores rather than four. Price difference doesn't matter since I'm going to be participating in the Intel Retail Edge Holiday Deal. So which do you guys think would give me the better performance when it comes to playing video games?

I guess if price doesn't matter, go ahead and get the 5930k since it'll be better in the long run, but for the next couple years, you shouldn't see a difference. Besides, the gpu is usually going to bottleneck you while gaming.

For better performance in games I don't believe there would be any significant difference between the 4790k and the 5930k. They'll both be completely fine gaming, now what else are you going to be doing with this computer if any? Is it just gaming and web browsing? Because gaming performance with either of these wont be any kind of problem or big difference. You'd be better off judging them for other CPU demanding things you'd be using the computer for now or in the future. Like video editing or rendering, those kinds of things.
