Hello.

My i7 4790k processor is getting 100ºC easly.. about 1minute playing CSGO. I do use cooler box, did not overclocked my cpu and I am afraid of deliding.

I just undervolted my cpu researching this theme on youtube. I am using Intel(R) Extreme Tuning Utility.

After my changes (differences in yellow):

Anyone with an undervolt knowledge could tell me if this values would cause some kind of CPU instability / damage? Another thing, would be better perform the changes in the BIOS or by this program itself? would it make any difference?

*This preset just downgraded about 15ºC while playing games such CSGO and Dota2.
*Nothing changed at stress tests. The CPU always achieve 100ºC and the Throttling begins.

Stress test it with OCCT for a few hours. If the computer doesn't crash the undervolt should be fine. The only real threat is too much voltage. Too little would just cause the computer to crash. After which the BIOS will likely disable your undervolt.

If you left turbo boost enabled. Try custom settings in OCCT for one through eight threads. Just to verify turbo boost won't cause stability issues.

After one minute of gaming your CPU is at 100 degrees celsius? What is the idle temperature? If it is actually at 100 degrees, you really need to put on some new thermal paste or get a new CPU cooler.
