i7-4790k vs i5 4690k?

I was going to get the i7, but I heard that it does not offer much more than the I5 for gaming. Either way, my GPU will be a GTX 980Ti. What do you guys think? Is the I7-4790K worth it? thanks

no. a i5 4690k will do just as well in almost every game

Just gaming? Get the 6600k.
You dont need an i7 for just gaming, the i5 is still a great performer, and why not get skylake?
