i7 4930k Build is it worth it?

I just spent about 2k on a build.
My current CPU was i7920 o/c 4.1
graphic card 560ti

I just bought 4930k, gtx 780, Asus rampage extreme black.

Will I see huge difference in games?
I know it wasn't the most economical build but honestly I wanted to see what this chip would do and I'll never have opportunity to do a build like this again.

youll see a big difference in gaming with that GPU

yes ,you ll see difference but 4930K is overkill - i7 4770 is enough .

We'll with an i7-920 and ONLY a GTX560Ti GPU, you could have just added the GTX780 (or two(2)) to that old system....

But, nah, that wouldn't have been as much fun as a new build on the 4930K !!!! I'm sure you won't need to update CPU/MB for 3--5 years with that platform. Just add more GPU's when your games get too slow.....

No need to upgrade your cpu now, just get a GTX 780 then upgrade your cpu once the 8 core Haswell-E comes aboard.

cpu is currently overkill. could be better in the future though. possibly add another gtx 780. games will have to be coded to use more than 4 cores... but that is in the works.

Agree. Your GPU upgrade will make the most difference. Marginal gains for that 4930k will be less noticeable.

I have already purchase/received all my parts for the new build. I'll use my same case and power supply.
I goofed on the ram bought two 8gig sticks I'll need to get two more.

I'll post pics once I take my old system apart and put the new one together.
