I decided to upgrade from my i5. paid some good money for new cpu and mobo. Finally got it all set up and installed but the performance is just gut wrenching.
GPU - GTX 970
Ram 24 GB @ 1300
500gb SSD
PSU - 500W
This set ran 10x better on a CPU that has 1/2 the rating on passmark.
Its almost like the GPU isnt functioning or something.
Anyways if anyone has any experience/insight I would greatly appreciate advice. Thanks!

What is your motherboard bios version? Asus lists version 4210 to fully support that CPU. What is the brand, exact model and age of your 500W PSU?
