I7-4930k overclocking step by step guide

Hi,

I'm ready to overclock for the first time! I don't want to use OC wizard as I'd like to achieve the very best result I can (I understand it depends on CPU to CPU) I'm really looking for basically a guide as to how to overclock a CPU (I'm using a asrock x79 extreme9 motherboard) can some tell me about all the different things I need to understand and perhaps give me a starting point and instruct me on how too test the limit from there?
