So I don't know much about CPU's but i plan on building a computer that can play games, edit and render well, and could live stream. So as I was browsing through the web to find the CPU I want. I came across these 2 CPU's. The i7 4790k and the i7 5820k. I already know they are both great. However i saw that the i7 5820k has 6 cores while the i7 4790k only has 4 cores. A little while later i realized i needed a DDR4 ram and a different motherboard if i choose to get the i7 5820k. I saw the huge price difference between the i7 5820k and the i7 4790k.

Like i said earlier, I am a total noob about CPU's and i think that more cores the better. I am probably wrong since both i7 are better than the some CPU's that have more than 6 or 4 cores.

My point is that is the i7 5820k really worth the extra cash or should I just get the i7 4790k.

Also I don't plan on overclocking that much.

If you answer, please tell me why it is better. Also don't recommend me a different CPU. I only want answers between these 2.

:)

Solution
5820k is a faster cpu because of the 6 cores but more performance= more cost but we look at things from how much performance you get per dollar you spend 4790k is a better option as x99 is very new and expensive with the ddr4 and motherboard costs.

If you get 5820k, you'll need the 3 main parts which is the cpu, RAM, and mobo, that's close to $1,000 alone. If you're not going to do heavy to very heavy editing and stuff like that, the 4790k would be better and cheaper for you.
