Hello all, I wanted to post this thread because I think it's different then the others in use case. I plan on running a Hackintosh machine but dual booting Windows. I have a good handle on the other parts but I'm divided between these 2 processors. I plan on editing in premiere, after effects, and Final Cut Pro. I also do work in Photoshop, cad, and illustrator etc. on the backend I'd like to game on the machine. The ability to crank out most games at high to ultra setting with good frame rates at 1080p is ideal. I'm either getting a GTX 970 or Radeon R9 390. Advice on that would be nice as well. Thanks for the help!

Without a doubt, I would go for the 5820 for your editing and CAD. Add some quad channel RAM and fast storage, you're good to go. I think the R9 390 would be better for gaming and editing, etc., but if you already own the 770, use it, it's still a pretty powerful card.

My mistake I'm torn between the 970 or 390

Shoot for the 390. Much more future proof.
