Hi guys

Basically I think there is a problem with my CPU temps.

My CPU is the i7 5960x overclocked at 4.4ghz on all cores.
It came overclocked from the place I bought my PC.
My cooler is the corsair h100iGTX.

I used Corona benchmark to test the temps and it reached 100c on all cores but it passed all tests.
Also uder gaming i.e. The division is reaching 90c with usage at 45-60%. other games it may stay at 65-75 like battlefront.

I am monitoring my temps via afterburner and corsair link.

At idle it stays at 50-65c. Sometimes it may spike to 75 and come down at the same time.

Please let me know your thoughts.
Any help will really be appropriated.

Thanks

I'm having the i7-5960x with 32gb ram and 980ti and swiftech H280 AIO liquid cooler. I have overclock to 4Ghz. Whenever I do rendering on the Adobe Premiere, 4k downsize to 1080p, it will be 100%, the temperature rise to 85~88 degree celsius and the Thermal Throttling will be on and the CPU drop to around 2.6Ghz to 3.2Ghz. I'm using Intel(R) Extreme Tuning Utility to monitor.

What are the way to keep CPU under 80 degree celsius when doing Adobe Premiere rendering. Thank you

That doesn't seem right. I would believe something in the 80C range, but 90 and 100 is way too much.

I would re-install the CPU cooler. An old problem with the h80i and h100i (not the GT or GTX) was that they didn't actually clamp down on the CPU with thinner motherboards (mostly ASUS and ASRock. It was necessary to add washers or spacers between the backplate and the motherboard to get a tight fit. I suspect you have something like that going on, or they just did a poor application and messed up the pre-applied paste.

Motherboard is the asus rampage v extreme.
100c it goes when is at 100% load.
So you recommend to uninstall it from the cpu but then i will need to reapply a new thermal paste?

Yes, just take a look at the thermal compound when you take it so you can see the distribution.

An easy way to check for a lack of clamping force is to see if you can wiggle the cooler with little effort, or press on it from the front while looking at the back of the motherboard. If you can see a visible gap form, it isn't on there well enough.

I changed the paste and still the same temps. under load is reaching 104c.
I also checked and the CPU block is touching the CPU.
the pump is seems to be working on the cooler as well.

any more ideas?

Thanks!

Temps are too high. What is the CPU voltage??

I have a 5960x at 4.3 ghz with CPU at 1.19v using a Noctua NH-D15 cooler.

Idle temps are around 30c and with Aida64 CPU + FPU stress test I will get 85-87c on the CPU package but actual cores max out at 80-81c.

I settled on my 4.3 OC as it is completely stable at 1.19v and I didn't want to add any more voltage as it would increase temps - my temps are the maximum I want to use - I have a photo processing application that runs the CPU as hard as the Aida64 stress test.

The system came overclocked 4.4ghz on all cores from the place I bought it.
I just entered BIOS is showing 1.344V for the CPU Core Voltage
CPU cashe voltage is 1.200v.

I Just found the problem.
Pump was on quiet mode in the corsair link...... after changing it to performance my temps now under 100% load is around 88c. when gaming is around 59-65.
is the pump supposed to run on performance mode all the time??
