snagged a titan XP off ebay kinda on a wild hair...wondering if my set up w/ a i7 6700 will get in the way of this card

i7 6700 liq cooled
gig z170x gaming 6
32GB ddr4 2400
700w power supply

have been playing on a benq 4k monitor using a gtx1080 and doing well but not often getting much over 50fps on the games I play...ARK, Stranded Deep, Subnautica

Well, is it Titan X Pascal or X Maxwel? Pascal I believe, since you already bought it only one way to know for sure, put it in and look at your usage lvls, if your CPU usage lvl is high and GPU low then your CPU bottlenecked, other way around and your GPU bottlenecked. I don't think it should be an issue.

Yeah there were several Titan X cards, the original Titan X is Maxwell, the architecture used in 9 series cards, and the Xp was the Titan X Pascal based one, there was also a Titan XP too, which i don't think was Pascal based, confusing.

Yeah, its all confusing stuff, and I think it was just a reaction to Vega 56 and 64's workstation abilities, 56 and 64 aren't the best at gaming but there Titan killers when it comes to compute.

yes its the newer version listed as Titan Xp... its the star wars jedi order green light one
change anything??

so there is no real advantage in gaming between skylake - kabylake - coffeelake as far as bottleneck on the videocard my set up should be more than adequate to back up this card

Almost, just remember that the lower resolution you run at the more CPU bottlenecked you'll be since the GPU has to work less to do the same FPS and its left to the CPU to process it.
