I have read somewhere that you can in fact overclock the i7 6700 (non K) processor. I was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this and how good the overclock was.
I don't think you can overclock the 6700 (non K) since it's not unlocked which obviously means that you can't overclock although you may be able to overclock a little bit but not a lot for any noticeable speed / fps (in-games) difference.
I can't find any information on the net about over clocks with the non K 6700.

You can overclock normal processors of the skylake family to the 4.5 ghz area safely but it has a few issues. Here is a guide.http://overclocking.guide/gigabyte-z170-non-k-overclocking-guide/
Yes you can overclock non k processors with the Z170 mobo by adjusting the bclk. Unfortunately it comes with a few negatives from what ive heard, but it is possible and several users have done it.
