My laptop is the MSI 17.3" GE72VR Apache Pro-009, in idle ECO cooler boost fan mode it sits at about 35-40 C but in games like modded Skryim Special edition (a lot of mods) and even in Elder scroll sonline it gets up to 90 C. Its a new laptop, only had it for almost a year, havent pushed it too much lately just been playing small games but I want to know what I can do to keep it cool. Most of the time I use my lap desk i got off amazon, it was the only one big enough for thi sbig laptop, and it has some felt on it to keep the laptop in place if that helps for possible issues. What can i do to fix this heating? I dont think its ment to go that hot. I just used some compressed air on the vent port and even the idle temps without the cooler boost went to 30-35 C. Is there anything else I can do to help the temp?
The specs are as followed :
Graphics card : GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB video memory (VR Ready)
CPU : Intel Core i7 6700HQ (2.60 GHz)
Memory : 16 GB
Storage : 1 TB HDD 256 GB SSD

Solution
I wouldn't recommend this to someone who is inexperience with computers, but taking apart the laptop cleaning it, and replacing the thermal paste on the GPU and CPU with good quality paste like Noctua NT-H1 Thermal Compound would help drop it a few degrees. Also, if you are going to use it make sure it has some clearance underneath it, and set it on a solid surface like a desk. They make many different types of laptop coolers as well.
