Good evening.

A stupid question but worth asking, I have an asus strix fx502vm which has intel i7 7700hq but the cpu is blown i dont know how, but the previous owner has done something wrong, I have extracted the blown cpu, and now i need to reflow a new cpu on it, I have intel i7 6700hq in hand,

Both cpu's has the same tdp 45w, 14nm, FCBGA1440, 42mm x 28mm.. I have a bga rework station and i have done alot of reballing etc, The question is will this i7 6700hq going to work on this board if i flash modded bios,,? or bios for another asus model with same strix line which came originally with i7 6700hq?

Or is it just not going to work..? and why?

Thanks

You shouldn't need to flash a bios.
The 6700HQ came first. You would've needed to flash the bios to accommodate a 7700HQ if your situation instead had the former in the laptop.
