Hell to all here at Tom's Hardware.

I have a question and may have another one at a later date based one the answer of this one.
I want to buy a new gaming computer, and I have a very good idea of what I want the problem is that I am currently confused about something.

I plan to get a Gigabyte-GA-H170-D3HP motherboard, not the very best but It should do the job fine, I found a CPU I would like but I got confused on the sight I found it on. The CPU in question is a i7-6700K

Now the GA-H170-D3HP motherboard supports the LGA 1151 Socket, which I understand.

The site for the CPU said the the i7-6700k is for the FCLGA 1151 Socket type. What on earth is the FC part all about? I ask cause I don't wanna buy it and find out that it won't fit. That would make me very sad and I will even cry. So can some tell me, will this CPU fit on the motherboard I have chosen and what's FC? Cause I really don't know.

Thank you to everyone in advance.

Solution
I7-6700K will work perfectly well on the Gigabyte-GA-H170-D3HP It runs stock at 4.0/4.2 turbo.
That is as good as you can do if you will not overclock.
Some might argue that since overclocking with a H170 motherboard is not possible, a I7-6700 would be equally good.
Not so, the I7-6700 runs at 3.4 with 4.0 turbo.

If one has the budget for a I7-6700K, I think one should pay the extra for a Z170 motherboard.
With a modest cooler you can overcock to good effect depending on your luck in getting a good chip.

FCLGA is a full name of the socket.
Regarding your intention, for this CPU better look for Z170 motherboard.
They are slightly more expensive, but provide more features and most importantly, they are the only one that can overclock the K CPUs like yours.
if you don't want to get that way, a non K CPU will be much cheaper.

Thank you very much for all the info and the explanation, I'll definitely will look into a Z170 motherboard. I think I should be able to squeeze a miracle out of my mediocre but flexible budget. I am really going by the skin of my teeth but I've wait for a long time and I think I should make it work
