i7 6700k is still worth it?

I see an i7 6700k for 220 dlls, I think is a good price but checking benchmarks it seems i5 8600k is better but also a little bit more expensive. Currently I have an i3 6100 an a B150 motherboard.

The i7-6700K will offer you very simliar performance, but you cannot overclock it on the B150 mobo. So overclocking would be a reason to upgrade to the Z370 platform.

Personally, I'd consider flashing the BIOS of the motherboard and upgrading to an I7-7xxx series processor.

That would be better [than the 6700K] at 4.4GHz-4.5GHz with the i7-7700K, which can usually be found on eBay for $269.

I'd be leery of someone else's e-bay samples, truthfully.....; even with no overclocking, the 6700K or 7700K would be a VERY nice boost for any game!
