i7 6700k - Low CPU Usage, mid high cpu temps during loading screens in game

Hello there. I'm not too sure why on a loading screen of a game (Such as Dishonored, GTA V etc) my cpu temps skyrocket to the mid 50s. This is strange to me as cpu usage is fairly minimal (10-20%). Um, is this normal behavior for an i7 6700k or cpus in general?

I'd appreciate all the help

What CPU cooler do you have?

50c. is a low temperature under load.
No worries there.
I suspect that your loading task is single threaded.
Windows will distribute the load of a single task over the threads it has available.
So, a single 100% cpu limited task will be divided up into 8 threads of your i7-6700k or 12.5% each in theory.

@bwinzey I have a NH-D15 cooler
@geofelt Thanks so much for explaining makes more sense now. I suspect that hyper threading has something to do with these temps. Glad to know that it is normal.
