OC to 4.4 Ghz, simple H60 cooler with dual fan in push/pull. Not the best cooler, I know. When I bought it I thought AIO's were the second coming of our lord & saviour. It was afterwards that I learned that the H60 is on par with a good air cooler / heatsink.

I just need a quick check because I'm reading so many conflicting information.

These are my temps when running Prime95 (29.4), the blend test.
As you see, the are mid to high 60's, with some serious variation going on between the cores.

When I run the torture (maximum heat) test, the temperatures are about 10 C higher, but I read that that tests hammers AVX instructions in a way that is ludicrous, and is not representative.
Idle temps are in the 30's.

Bottom line: are these temperatures fine / normal?

Temps under 70 are definitely safe. Also bear in mind that your temps under a more general workload (such as gaming) are likely to be a good few degrees lower than during a stress test.

If you want to lower them further it could be an idea to replace your existing thermal paste (especially if it's been installed for a long time) with a higher quality one or replace the fans on the radiator.

The amount of misinformation is overwhelming, however, your Core temperatures are fine.

"Throttle" temperature for the i7-6700K is 100°C, but here's the nominal operating range for Core temperature:

Core temperatures above 85°C are not recommended.

Core temperatures below 80°C are ideal.[/B]

Core temperatures increase and decrease with Ambient temperature.

If you want to get yourself up to speed on this topic, then give this a read: Intel Temperature Guide - https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/intel-temperature-guide.1488337/

Pay particular attention to Section 11 - Thermal Test Basics & Section 12 - Thermal Test 100% Workload.

The latest version of Prime95 is 29.8. Download and run Small FFT's with all AVX selections disabled. A 10 minute run is more than adequate.

As per Intel's Datasheets, TDP and Thermal Specifications are validated “without AVX”.
