i7-6700k vs 5820k

I'm trying to help a friend with building a new pc and am stuck with this question hoping one of you guys could help. Mainly being used for gaming, recording, rendering, and streaming,

The 6700k is would be better for just a gaming pc

But the 5820k is better for rendering, streaming/ multitasking

So the 5820k is the right choice for that rig

What program? Not all rendering speeds up with more threads. The 5820k may be worse than the 6700k because of the IPC.
