i have the 6700k and i want to know if its worth going to 6800k ?
i do video editing rendering and gaming of 1080p only.
what should i do

You won't see any noticeable increase in performance in gaming and for most titles the performance will be the same.

If you are serious about rendering and do it professionally, the 6 cores of the 6800k will give you shorter render times.

As long as you are using programs/tasks that benefit from more cores and threads you will see a difference.

"Is it worth it?" Well that depends on what you like to spend your money on and how much of a benefit you will really see and what difference that will make to you.

I personally think it isn't worth it because you already have a 6700k.

if I was you I would do a Duel XEON E5-2670 8 CORE 2.60GHz build. You can get them on ebay for about 60$. That being said to make this build work Takes considerable Legwork as I am finding out because I have never built around socket 2011. but if your like me that wants a good video rendering machine for cheap. It has a better price to performance score then ether of those CPU's for video editing.

I would keep the 6700k. It's faster than a single e5 2670 in some cases and nearly as fast in others.

A single socket x79 (old tech) board is averaging around $350-400 even on ebay. The same goes for dual socket super micro boards. Dell has a number of them but dell is often proprietary in terms of connections and form factor so best of luck on that route. Not much of a deal really. Some of these such as the supermicro dual socket are e-atx so you'd need a case that fits the extended atx form factor. At least some of these boards like the SUPERMICRO MBD-X9DRI-F-O are still sold new from newegg for $440.

No m.2 support, no usb 3.0 or 3.1 or type c, so there are some tradeoffs. The above benchmarks aren't taking into consideration an overclocked 6700k. It's just not quite the great deal it appears to be on the surface. More or less that awkward point where the workstation chip is old enough that it's breaking even with the latest mainstream chips and while the used cpu's can be had for cheaper there are caveats and the older x79 boards aren't cheap by any means.

In terms of video editing it may depend on the program used. Many use handbrake as a standard since it's open source and readily available.

In some cases the 6700k was around 7-8% faster than the 6800k, in others the 6800k was 13% faster. I don't think the cost of going to broadwell-e is worth it but that's my opinion. Not to mention sorting out the ram which is likely a dual channel kit when you want a quad channel kit for the 2011v3 boards. Even for professional work it would take a lot of work done to make up the cost difference I think.

can you explain more , so making duel xeon build is it for rendering via network

can anyone explain more about Duel XEON E5-2670 since i am video editor in after effects ,3dmax rendering is important to me to speed it up fast as possible , so i seen Duel XEON E5-2670 how do i get started with it to make it render faster ? do i use it as multi machine render via network
