Alright, so i just got my hands on a filthy 6800k and installed it and all that to make sure everything works out of the box, and would like to push for a reasonably high OC, since I've paired it with my Corsair H110i GTX, (currently sitting on an ASUS X99-A mobo). How high could i tune my multiplier and core voltage and still stay below the 80 degree Celcius mark on load, cause basically I'm really scared to hurt my cpu early on. Thanks in advance :)

1. Don't use Prime95 versions 28 or higher for stress testing Broadwell E

2. Don't enable XMP until you have a stable overclock, run the memory at stock until you have stress tested the overclock and confirmed its stability.

3. Try 4.0 Ghz at stock volts and run an hour or two of Asus Realbench to test stability, and an hour of Prime95 26.6 to test temps.

4. Increase your overclock slowly until it fails a test. Then increase the voltage until stable. Repeat until you are happy with the Overclocked speed.

I have the exact same setup as you and am running @ 4.2Ghz with 1.275v - yours could be much better or it could be much worse, it varies massively with these CPUs.

Don't try anything higher without significant testing, BW-E runs hot and consumes a lot of power.

Asus have an excellent overclocking guide for Broadwell-E, I'd suggest looking at that if you're struggling.

Hey! I'm running 6800k at 4.0 ghz at 1.277 volts , and if i go 4.1 the system crashes ,how much voltage should i increase

tip ”Don't use Prime95 versions 28 or higher for stress testing Broadwell E“ , prime98 higher version result not correct?

Bro, my build is

i7 6800k
X99 Asus Rog Strix
Corsair ddr4 3000mhz
Air Cooler Hyper 212x
Asus gtx 1070
Corsair 1000w

Can i overclock to 4.0ghz 120v?

Run benchmarks and see if it's stable at 1.20 volts

So, what version of Prime95 can i use for it?[/quotemsg]

Use Aida 64, it's better for monitoring everything. The trial version will do.

Thanks bro, so i do a test stress right? what results can i consider normal? i how long time of stress?

Sorry for all questions, i am noob at this.

Run it for an hour or so, temps should be under 75, and do a stress test.

In that case should i test first 1.18v at 4.0ghz after 1.20 at 4.0ghz?
