Hello TH Com,

I am buying a new PC with GTX1080 Ti, but I am not sure what CPU to put in.

Cause both will be overclocked it's hard to compare with the spreadsheets I could find online. (they are always compared without OC)

It is mainly a Gamer PC, with HTC VIVE for VR. But I'd like to Stream more, like games BF1, StarWars BF II, etc. Isn't for that a 6 core better? Is it worth to give that extra money for 2 more cores?

The 7700K is a beast and don't need much OC, I also think it can't be OC much cause it is already so good. I see more potential in the 6850K so (the shop where I would buy OC it from 3,8 to 4,2)

What I don't understanding in mordern OC, if a 6850K can hold it, and if its only effect one core.

What I have so far on compremension: http://http://www.cpu-world.com/Compare/588/Intel_Core_i7_i7-6850K_vs_Intel_Core_i7_i7-7700K.html

tl;dr CPU@OC are hard to compare, wich one for gaming and time to time streaming of shooter games should I get? 6850K (6core) or 7700K (4core)

PS: Budget is not the killer argument for me, I could also live with higher electricity costs.

"8700k, best of both worlds"
nailed it. In some games, 2 more cores give hughe FPS advantages. but games that make use of that are quit rare.

I ask my supplyer when the 8700K is avaiable. If it's not in the next 1-2 months I go for the 7700K.
