[SOLVED] I7 7700 in 2020?

I have a Pentium g4560 3,5 ghz, AMD RX 570, 8 GB DDR4 ram at 2133Mzh. I was thinking about upgrading to I7 7700 or I7 6700.
Do you think it's worth it? The new consoles will have fast SSD-s, RAM that my motherboard from 2017 wont support.
Since I mostly use my pc for gaming and C# programming , should I wait, and see what the PS5, new Xbox will have, and build a new PC similar to those specs, or will the 7700 do just fine for the next 3 years?

The 7700 is still a decent CPU....but the thing is....I think the prices are high on the 7700 and 7700k because I'm pretty sure those were the fastest CPUs for a lot of motherboards.

....but it definitely would be a huge boost from the g4560.

.....as far as three years....I think it depends on the games so it's a tough call....but I think it will be able to play the vast majority of games well in three years.

It's good cpu, but how said, it's too expensive. You can build whole ryzen system for new i7 price.
