Task Manager shows 2 cores, 4 logical processors. I'm running it on a z170A, so I had to use a lower end processor to update my bios. Don't ask for time frames, as my life is super hectic, but it's been like this since I installed everything. It runs, just not as fast as it should.

IXTU shows all 8 threads and all 4 cores, but TM gives me half of that. I've reset my bios, I've checked all four cores for bootup, and I've even checked to see if the old drivers from the setup CPU were still installed and they weren't. Not sure if there is a fix or not, but I sure as hell am going to try. Only reason I even ask is without doing anything extreme, I automatically get pegged at 60% or above, and this is supposed to be a gaming machine. Any helpful thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a spare hdd you could test a os reinstall? Remember to disconnect your current drive if you do so.

Boot options in msconfig sometimes works but usually the reason why this method has gone to lengths is because usually windows hasn't been reinstalled after a cpu upgrade. Not always does an cpu upgrade cause os issues but it does happen.
No bent or broken pins, CPU-Z shows the same thing, 2 cores/4 threads. Also, Already tried checking and unchecking the number of through msconfig's advanced options, still no dice. I have been having uptime issues as windows 10 has reportedly been having due to fastboot cache, but I'm not sure if this would have anything to do with the number of cores. bios shows all 8 threads and 4 cores, but I'm not getting that in TM or CPU-z, and my speeds aren't what they should be at all.
