I bought a gtx 1080ti, but I plan to upgrade my cpu as well, I have a i5 7500 and I am having a hard choice between the i7 7700 (non k) and i5 7600k, the i7 7700k and a z270 mobo is very expensive in my country, almost twice the price compared to the US so I don't plan to get that, but the i7 7700 cost around 400$ in my country and if I buy the i5 I would buy it from amazon since it is slight cheaper,

not very cheap but cheaper then in stores here, I could sell my old cpu and mobo for around 270$.
I will use my pc for gaming so the cpu that will work best is what I am looking for
thanks

If you are looking to upgrade both the motherboard and the CPU, I would get the Ryzen 1600 with a B350 mobo. Check those prices and see how they look.

I would get the 7700k. What motherboard do you have, just to make sure they are compatible? If you're lucky a BIOS update will be enough to replace the Processor.

I have MSI H110m, so I cant overclock so the i7 7700k would be kind of a waste

I saw:

the i7 7700k and a z270 mobo is very expensive in my country, almost twice the price compared to the US so I don't plan to get that

When I read that, the fact that you had this 7600k listed as an option, it implies a 7600k + Z270 MoBo was still on the table. With the 1080 Ti added, one of my biggest concerns with that MoBo would be the Realtek ALC887 Audio system.

and the ryzen is 40$ cheaper with a mobo and a cooler

You can still get the 7700k with an H110 board. the 7700k has a boost clock of 4.5Ghz vs the 4.2Ghz of the 7700. Not a huge difference.

With the 7600k and the 7700 having the same boost clock, I think the 7700 is more cost effective (since the 7600k doesn't come with a cooler)

Ryzen is a nice budget option, but the not having to completely re-install the OS and potentially get a new license is more worth it to me. (Though I have done a few successful transplants.)

What country are you in? I would get a cheaper SkyLake processor if Ryzen is not an option. Also get the XX00K version of whatever processor you are getting as you will have the option to overclock it in the future when you upgrade the motherboard. Also they have higher stock base clock than the non-k version which makes it worth it over the small price increase.

Iceland, we don't have a lot of CPU's in stores here, only new and most popular ones which are overpriced, when I went to the US I took the advantage and bought a 1080ti for 710$ rather then 1100$ here in Iceland so that is the reason I am upgrading my cpu as well to keep up with the GPU

here is a Sreenshot of the selection from a price comparison website which shows selection for 1511 socket and amd m4 CPUs

The 7700k is about $10 more than the 7700, bbut does require a cooler; it is clocked 500 MHz faster on the base clock, which I would hardly refer to as 'a waste', given it's prominence in high framerates even at stock speeds....

maybe i'll buy the i7 7700k and buy the mobo later or used if I find any
