i7-7700 vs i5-7400

Solution
I think that's a good choice.

This is quite a significant difference....which is why I'm reposting it.

An i7-7700 is a more capable CPU and will also work better if you decide to upgrade your graphics in the future.

i've seen youtube benchmarks and the i5 combo got more fps, i don't understand how?
its better for me tho don't got me wrong its less money but how the i5 performed better than i7 with the 1050 ti

Yes, like arif said, don't believe youtube.

The i7 7700 combo wins all day. No arguments.

have a look at this: https://www.cpu-monkey.com/en/compare_cpu-intel_core_i5_7400-670-vs-intel_core_i7_7700-665

or this: https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/intel-kaby-lake-core-i7-7700k-i7-7700-i5-7600k-i5-7600,4870-7.html
In this one the closest match is the i5 7600, but you can clearly see the 7700 beats in every metric.

If you are planning on playing anything like BF1/BF V, COD WW2 and most new AAA games, then the 7700 is by far the better choice. The 4c/4t 7400 is already going to be maxing out at 100% usage in those games I mentioned and it won' be a nice experience with some stuttering in game. Having the extra threads of the 7700 makes a lot of difference right now.

so with the 1050 ti paired with the i7 there will be no bottleneck
that means
gtx 1050 ti with the i7-7700 will give more in game fps than pairing it with the i5-7400?

Simple answer, yes.

Zero bottleneck. The 7700 can drive a GTX1080 with no bottleneck.

The 7700 has a base clock of 3.6ghz and a Turbo of 4.2. The 7400 has a base of 3ghz and a turbo of 3.5. There is no dispute the 7700 is the faster, better chip.

then im going with the i7-7700 combo.
thanks for ur time.
