Hey ,Yes i am one of those budget gaming people and i am at a very crossroads as i was to get a i3 10100 but plans are derailed

So my current options are used i7 7700HQ or Ryzen 3 2200G paired with a GTX 1650 Super for gaming

And internet has many different opinions and results regarding those both and i understand the i7 is a laptop CPU ,But which would be better to be paired with the said GPU as one has 4 Core 8 Threads while the other only 4 Core and 4 Threads

And please note i am into AAA gaming as i own some games and so does my brother ,so games I'm talking about are like heavy games as in Watch Dogs legion and AC Valhalla and so on and against popular opinion Cyberpunk ,also where as comes the question that many benchmarks show ryzen as faster but then comes the question of clock speeds ,and thread count and so on

Edit - just got a call from the ryzen guy and he's asking a ton more so that's out of the original question so would i7 7700HQ be worth it ,
as my current build has i5 2400 and would there be a massive noticeable gaming difference in mentioned tittles ? (Including Red Dead Redemption 2)

Thanks

Thank you for the suggestions ,i appreciate it

And yeah i7 7700HQ on a regular desktop runs very cool too with just any stock cooler and decent thermal paste

The thing is im getting the whole Motherboard/RAM/CPU and a silly yet hey its RGB ,RGB cabinet for 140 USD which actually fits my budget in these damned times

Of course i will stress test that to the limit before handing over any money but just to clear my doubts just speaking performance wise i7 7700HQ would be alright gaming wise as i understand the capabilities of my GTX 1650 Super but not of i7 7700HQ ?
Yeah, look at it like a i3 10100.
They are similar performance wise, and both can still play every game out there.
i7 7700HQ is out of the question.
Its a laptop cpu that cant be put in a normal desktop motherboard.
i3 10100 wins between the 2200G in gaming.
What is the rest of your future pc?
You need a good gpu to handle the above games, which means you need a good psu, 16gb of ram, solid case airflow.

Hey thanks ,the rest of my current build is GTX 1650 Super paired with Dual Channel 8GB RAM and 650W PSU and good ole dumb i5 2400 and it lacks so bad in games

And you know people from china or rather asian countries do ship i7 7700HQ that fits in regular Motherboards which i think they also supply and i did see it happen on linus tech using a HQ laptop CPU variant on a regular desktop motherboard and i will be inspecting every thing by benchmarking by hand before buying used

The third sad option i have haha is i7 2600
(please check the original question ,its updated)

Really? I didnt know that is possible xD

If you are 100% sure that the i7 will work, then go for it.
If not i think this combo is pretty affordable and secure to work.

7700HQ is mobile cpu in FCBGA 1440 package (soldered onto motherboard). It doesn't go onto desktop motherboard (LGA 1151 socket).

Can you provide any links to this i7 7700HQ desktop variant magic?
