So I built a new computer and been running it for about a week now and its still at a high temperature of 90 celsius, 100c max. I don't know what the problem is but im guessing it has to do with my cpu cooler. Its a corsair hi100 v2 240mm. If anyone knows whats wrong or have any suggestions let me know.

Solution
you are lucky your cpu ins't dead yet.

2. Some aio doesn't come with thermal paste check that before anything else.
1: Check if AIO is properly tight.
3. idele temps should be 40C at ambient of 30C

Solution
Something is wrong here.

1. No or incorrect appliance of thermal paste.

2. AIO is not plugged in or wrong header on the motherboard so the pump is not running.

3. AIO pump is broken. While the system is running take one finger and touch the pump housing (cpu clock) and you should feel a small vibration, if you cant you take a screwdriver and with its head you touch the pump housing. Now you put your ear onto the screwdriver handle and you should be able to hear the hum of the pump.
If you cant feel it nor hear it, thats a pretty good sign the pump is not running.

4. Incorrect mounting of the waterblock.

5. No fans running on the AIO.

6. In some very, very, very, very rare cases people has reported this when everything is done correct + overkill cooling setup. It was the thermal grease that sits between the cpu die and the heatspreader that was faulty applyed... And only way to fix that is to delid the cpu and re-apply. Again this is in VERY rare cases.

7. An another way to check if it is the AIO or cpu is to take off the AIO cpu block, lay the case on its side and just hold an another aircooled cpu block down while you just stay in bios and watch the temps on the cpu. It should never go above 50ish celcius.
The aircooler does not have to be the correct cooler for 1151 socket since you are holding it down with your hands just make sure the foot of the aircooler is covering the area of the cpu die. Just have a fan blow air on it while you do this ofc but that should come without saying...

8. Corsair link is not really needed since without it, the pump + fans will default to full speed run.
