Hello,

I was wondering if a non-OCed 7700k should be reaching 90c under load. The ambient temp is 28c and may be a little hotter in the room the comp is in. I have two front intake and two back exhaust case fans. I have a strix 1080 ti and it is only hitting 69c.

I have seen posts the discuss when OCed but none when its not OCed. When attaching the cooler I struggled a bit with the spring load screws and that may have messed up the thermal paste a bit. Not really sure. But 90c seems high for not OCed and am a little concerned.

Thank you in advance for any help that you can provide

Mine has a NH-D15, and, even with just a single fan in between the two tower stacks (case was too small to mount the second fan, which sits higher), with the 2nd supplied fan used as an intake fan, the gaming load is 63C, Intel stress 64C, and Prime 95/small FFT which peaks at 72-73C but stops rising after 12 minutes.....

In short: 90C is wayyyy too darn warm for that cooler..!
90c is very hot for stock, I would remount the cooler with fresh thermal paste, and then check your voltages in bios, at stock you should be able to run it at less than 1.3 for sure maybe even 1.25. Its probably set to auto or adaptive which is fine but you should be able to offset it some if the motherboard is pumping too much vcore
