Hi all. About two weeks ago i made a thread describing an issue i'v encountered since i installed my I7-7700k... (went from an i5) and installed an extra stick of ram, so i now have 2x16gb DDR4 3000mhz Corsair vengance.
I noticed that when i ran prime 95, if i put in more than around 20gigs of ram (on the custom test) my system would crash.

I asked how i else could test my ram, and someone suggested memtest. So i did that, had it run for around 14 hours. No errors... The issue still stands however, i cant input more than 20gigs of ram in prime 95, should i be worried, or just not care?

Solution
Official support for i7-7700k is DDR4-2133/2400MHz, so it comes down to the strength of the IMC (Integrated memory controller) if indeed the system will be stable running at 3000MHz.

Also the fact that mixing DRAM modules from differing kits is never a good idea (even if they are the same exact specs).

Instability will show itself due to the above but don't worry if it does, it will not damage anything.

If no errors testing RAM using Memtest86 then that proves your RAM is OK however system stability is not guaranteed.
