so as the title says i got i7 7700k and RTX 2080ti and i just tested out AC origins on 1080p on ultra settings and i got 57 fps how is that even possible ? so i searched on youtube for benchmarks on gtx 1080ti with the same CPU as mine and a video i saw got between 70 to 90 fps thats way higher than me i also got SSD and i got 16 gb ram dual channel and also i tested insurgency sandstorm i get 50 fps if there was a lot of activity or a lot players on my screen im 100% sure this isnt normal so please help :(

Solution
but i modified the resolution like you saw in the video to 2k and almost 4k i didnt get any extra FPS because the higher the resolution the more it relies on GPU than CPU

Doesn't matter, if the Monitor isn't actually higher than 1080P. ;)

The bottom line is the 7700K can't handle the 2080Ti at 1080P.

Best bet would be to either:

Get a 1440P monitor.

or

Upgrade the MB and CPU to a 9700K or 9900K with a Z390 MB.

But even then the 2080Ti isn't really a 1080P card and will be bottlenecked every CPU out now depending on the game.

I agree with this statement. At 1080p the 7700k is bottlenecking so hard the 2080ti is not even stretching it's legs. Why did you buy a 2080ti for 1080p that's a 700-1200$ waste.

your cpu is way too weak to handle 2080ti at 1080p especially with h mother board u cant overclock it. maybe an i9 9900k is capable to handle 2080ti at 1080p

You can't handle the truth!

I mean your 7700K can't handle the truth! It thinks it's a born leader, but it's raw ambition is blinding it from the truth that it cannot rule over the 2080ti. Never in a hundred game years has the 2080ti been ruled by such a puny overlord.

Seriously though, I was surprised it was bottlenecking it so hard at 1080p. This makes me re-think my own CPU options. Enlightening!

ok then i will upgrade my CPU but can i just upgrade my CPU and leave the mother board to be the same ? and which one do you think i should get i7 9700k or i9 9900k

i thought 7700k is just the best in the market for price and performance but i think im wrong at this :(

I think we both learned something from this. I expected that it would bottleneck considerably at higher resolutions, but not 1080p wow! Good luck with upgrading your CPU.

Maybe I've got that backwards actually. For some reason I forgot that it works the other way around lol.

what the fuck are you guys talking about xd the cpu is bottlenecking but not at 57 fps at 1080p, stop answering to say bs, that sounds more like a dual channel problem, did you set your ram sticks on dual channel ? don't stick it to each other, the cpu is not the problem at all the 7700k is performant, my gf with a 1080ti and a 6700k get higher fps, nothing has been OC, 2x8 3000mhz
