Currently using CM hyperevo 212 with my i7 7700 cpu and feel the cooling is insufficient. Wondering what options I have and if anyone else has experienced temp problems with this setup. I hear the 912 isn't very compatible with liquid cooling and any recommendations are appreciated.

For the record I'm using gtx 1080 FE, 16 gb of ram (2x8 g. Skill ripjaws), and currently have the following fan setup in my HAF 912:
200mm intake in front
200mm exhaust on top
120mm exhaust in rear
120mm intake on side

Thanks in advance

weird, if everything installed properly and case air flow is good, 212 should be enough at least for stock speed. Many people manage to hit 4.8GHZ on 1.250v and stay under 80C in games.
So is your CPU overclocked? If it stock download hwmonitor and check vcore voltage. Sometimes voltage is very high by default. Then you could tweak it down in Bios.
As i remember stock voltage can ramp up to 1.280-1.300v during heavy load on default settings in bios.

212 should be enough for stock or mid range overclocking. You could try noctua d15, best air cooler as far as i know. Its performance is the same or close to 240mm AIO. Performance/$ wise i would stick with 212.
What is CPU temperature btw? or what is wrong?

Last night it got to 88 C while playing PUBG on low settings for the most part. After doing some research I found out that the 7700k tends to "run hot" and I've also seen posts saying the 212 may not be strong enough.
