Hello!

I'm planning on upgrading from an i5-6402p to an i7-7700k. I plan on oc later down the road, but I'm hoping to find a cooler that won't completely break the bank, but something that'll keep things really cool. And something that'll fit in my NZXT Phantom 240 case.

Your case can fit CPU coolers as high as 158mm, so, I would suggest this good-quality, affordable, 145-mm high Cryorig H7 CPU Cooler (would even match your case if you have the white version):

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU Cooler: CRYORIG - H7 49.0 CFM CPU Cooler ($34.89 @ OutletPC)
Total: $34.89
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

You can use the Cryorig H7 in non-OC or even for OC later on. Note that if you have a Z170 mobo (for 6th-gen CPU), you *might* have to update the BIOS for the 7th-gen i7-7700K CPU to run.

I have the Asus ROG Maximus IX Hero Z270 Motherboard. It's a prebuilt that I'm upgrading. Should I just buy a new case as well?
