Question i7 7700k temp hitting 100C

hey guys, so i recently bought a gaming pc from a guy on facebook marketplace and this pc is really fast but when i tried to play intensive games like cyberpunk or run cinebench my temp keep hitting 100 degrees. it is running i7 7700k but this system got an aio with single 120mm fan (coolermaster seidon 120v v2) when system is idle or when i do lite work it sits between 40-50 degrees and the cpu is not overclocked. do you guy have any idea why it is hitting those temps?

Yes, this is possibly a couple of reasons.

Could be that the thermal paste, due to age, is not as effective, or that the single AIO is not enough.

I used to have a 6700K (which runs less hot), and I had the same thing happen, but I ran a 240mm AIO (two 120mm fans), and that kept it happy.

If you're going to keep this CPU around, I REALLY recommend changing it if the case allows it to a 240mm AIO.

As far as thermal solution, Arctic's newest stuff is really good for the price.

Undervolt with negative offset [-0.080] and consider better cooler.
Noctua NH-D15 is solution too, with one front intake and back exhaust fans.
