I am looking to buy a new pc and i was wondering if it would be better to get the i7 7700k with a gtx 1070 or to get a i5 8600k and use my current gtx 1060 6gb. I am looking it for just gaming as i dont stream or do youtube.
I am running my games at 1080p 60Hz. I dont want to pay alot of money that is overkill. I will be playing the likes of arma etc..

Thanks in advance

I would go for the 8600k and reuse the 1060 GTX for sure. New motherboard will be required. Graphics cards are very expensive right now. I would also skip the K version unless you are planning on overclocking and save some money. If the performance still isn't good enough with an i5 8th gen and a 1060GTX then you could upgrade the card down the road when GPU prices come down. A Coffee Lake i5 and a 1060GTX should be able to handle anything at 1080p. You will likely be paying the price of the graphics card plus an extra $200+ due to GPU shortages.

OP, your monitor resolution and refresh rate are?
If 1080 60Hz, go with the 1060 rig, above that, i'd suggest the 1070 option. IMHO

Or better yet, if you can manage to sell the 1060 and stretch a bit your budget, definitely try the suggestion above.
