i7 8700k cpu

Solution
It is as hot running chip, and if you're looking to achieve a high overclock, you do need high end cooling, eg. Dual tower air coolers like the Noctua NH-D15 or Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 3, or 240+mm closed loop liquid coolers. Really high overclocks often require delidding to get temperatures under control.

Solution
There is the Dark Rock 3 and the Dark Rock Pro 3. The Dark Rock 3 is a cheaper cooler with only one tower so it has less cooling capability. It would be fine for stock operation, but might not be the best choice if you're planning to overclock. Be aware that the large high end air coolers like the NH-D15 and Dark Rock Pro 3 also overhang the RAM slots, so that can be a problem if you have taller RAM sticks. It's one reason why the AIOs are getting increasingly popular for those who need higher end CPU cooling.
