i7 8700k how can i lower voltage

I want to lower the voltage of the cpu as it goes as high as 1.35V when downloading games and browsing on chrome. How can I lower the voltage without having it fixed. I have tried using the offset voltage option but it causes windows to crash, while having it fixed it does not crash windows.

You just have to find a balance. What is the voltage required to run the core speed the CPU is reaching? You can't always get away with undervolting, so it might be 1.35 volts to run at 4.7Ghz on a single core.

I got it to work at 1.15V fixed with 4.3GHz on all cores, but I have problems when I want to use offset as I got it to boot into windows and used the pc for a couple of hours at -100mV offset but now it just crashes as soon as it boots at any negative offset voltage. Is that offset too much.

1.15 is quite low. 1.2 would be a more reasonable starting point.

No one can really give you a direct answer, every CPU is a little different on its voltage requirements.
