[SOLVED] i7 8700k or i7 9700k?

Hi,

Since my pc is getting kinda out of date, I've been looking for possible upgrades.
My current CPU struggles with loads, it's at 100% in most of the games, making youtube/spotify lag.

Anyways, I'm considering the 8700k or the 9700k, since they're not far off in price.

However, I've noticed the 9700k has only a minor fps difference, but the 8700k has 12 threads and the 9700k has 8.

Which of these 2 CPU's can handle more load before being at 100%? And are they really that different?

the i7 9700k can handle streaming and pubg without dropping a frame.
I recommend getting the 9700k
Streaming at 1080p60

8 faster cores (9700K) are currently outperforming 6 cores/12 threads of the 8700K in measured gaming scenarios....(Not sure if someone has clocked them equally to see to what degree the higher clock speed makes over just the two physical cores vs. the hyperthreading...

Additionally, as we are within 24 hours of Ryzen 3600 through 3900X launch/review embargo, I'd sure want to see what they are bringing to the gaming performance table before committing to either Intel CPU, as the 3600 is only $199 or so, and along with the $249 each 3600X, are rumored to rival the 9700K in gaming...
