i7 8700k with Gtx 1050ti

Is using this i7 8700k cpu overkill with a 1050ti. I am gaming and streaming on the same pc for now and i’m looking to upgrade my cpu to increase the stream quality.

If you're currently using a CPU with fewer threads, the moving to the i7 for more threads is probably a good idea.

It's *probably* overkill for 1050Ti, but really there's no direct match between CPU and GPU. For GPU, it's usually more about the monitor's resolution and refresh rate.
