Unless you will mod it, you would need 300 series chipset

In short, ...NO.

The only (aforementioned) mods I even heard of allowed , at best, a pin hack to allow the i3-8100 (a essentially a reworked i5-7600) to be used. (Never heard of the 8700K being successfully used)
