Hello, I have FX-6300 and it starts to piss me off. Every time when I play GTA V CPU load is at 90% and sometimes frame drops from 55-60fps to 15-20fps.
And the question is Is it good to buy I7 920 and replace fx-6300 to i7?
I think that would really be more of a side grade than an upgrade, just due to the age of that particular i7 (pushing 10 years). It would be tough to justify, depending on what you'd be paying for the i7 and a new motherboard.
That processor is so old, why would you want to invest in something so dated? Why not save up for something more recent since you will also have to go through the trouble of finding and buying an LGA 1366 motherboard and compatible RAM?

The i7 920 is a significally older chip than the FX-6300, which is already very dated. Depending on budget available, the i5 7600k is an amazing price point and will last for a while.
