Hi, my main objective is attaining a clock between 3.6 and 3.8 for stable 24/7 use.
I've read that the 930 can be easily overclocked to that.
Is the i7 960 easier to attain a 3.6, 3.8 clock and remain stable and cooler than the 930?

I thought that had a obvious answer but after reading a review, it said the 960 is actually about 10 degrees hotter on stock settings.
I will be using a hyper 212 plus cpu cooler.

Should i get the 930 or 960?
These are the only two i can get, the 920 will not be restocked on the store i have to buy.

Solution
both should get around the same oc so go for the cheaper one unless you want to get the 960 so you can say you have a 960 instead of the 930 but both with do the job and with a 212+ they should stay cool under just about all loads. so id go with the 930.

I'd rather pay an extra $30 for a slightly better cooler, than to pay $$$ to go from a 930 to a 960, I'm not sure about the price difference there, but here its a LOT more than a $30 lol

930 is what I use, mine is happy, 3.6 on stock voltage. All the 9xx i7's make a lot of heat.
