Question I7 9700 COOLER?

Hi i just got a i7 9700 cpu that came without cooler , i have a spare stock cooler that was from a i3 9100f, my question is will that i3 cooler will work with the i7 until i get a better one?

If they are the same LGA socket which I am assuming they are then I would say yes.

they are same socket, the only thing i dont know if they have the same tdp

Give it a try and monitor your temps. I have a feeling it will work just fine. Most stock coolers I have dealt with are the same across the CPU models of a socket type

It will work but it's not ideal for heavy loads.

No the stock cooler is identical it's just inadequate to properly cool the i7 9700 under heavy sustained loads.

Just invest in a half way decent air cooler and call it good. The 9700 is a powerful processor, so you might has well have a half-way decent cooler cooling it. Not going to break the bank.
